The Question

While working out the other day a friend asked me a thoughtful question. “Thor, why at your age when most people are dialing down are you actually gearing up?” He was referring to my work with GTN.

When I joined in with Jesus’s kingdom work I simply expected to be used by God. I don’t necessarily mean being called to do something heroic like sell everything we have and go. (But if Jesus does tell you to do that, then do it!)

I think it’s about participating and remembering the people who feel forgotten. It’s simply dancing with the one who brought you to the party.

Jesus is always found remembering the people that the world has forgotten. It seems to be his specialty.

Even in his own agony on the cross he was asked, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” It was a desperate cry for help. It was a cry to be remembered.  Jesus responded, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

As you participate with Jesus in remembering the forgotten people, God will take you places you never thought you would go. You will see things you never thought you would see and do things you never thought you would do.

When you are with the people who feel forgotten and Jesus shows up there is nothing better.

Learn the fine art of what the Father is doing and then in humility and obedience do it with Him. If there is time left over after doing it, spend that time encouraging others to do the same.

I have time left over.  And, that’s why I train Church Planters, Pastors and leaders around the world.
