Through the Looking Glass: The Journey of a Natural Blonde to Know God – Bonnie Colberg

We all have in us the need to find God; we just don’t always acknowledge that need or maybe even know where to find Him. Even as a believer in Jesus I found myself looking for the “secret to life” in the things of the world. It only led to a severe depression. In the midst of my darkest days God reached down and pulled me up and back into His light. He restored the goodness of life. If you want to find God and discover the true secret to life this fun, yet powerful book can change your life!

“… suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her. There was nothing so remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, “Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of his waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a Rabbit with either a waist-coat pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.” Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

There she goes again, thinking. It was a burning curiosity that caused Alice to discard all reason and chase a White Rabbit with pink eyes. There she was lazily daydreaming, when suddenly … Alice even admits that although it all seemed natural at the time, she should have taken the time to wonder. Unfortunately, curiosity got the better of her. Off she scurried to follow the White Rabbit across a field that led to a large rabbit-hole – a rabbit-hole of unknown mysteries – a rabbit-hole that she hoped would offer her new excitement, satisfy her curiosity and end her boredom. The rabbit-hole was intriguing, but she didn’t stop to consider that it might take her to a place where she really hadn’t intended to go, a place that, at first glance, seemed enchanting, but which she would soon discover was not at all to her liking.

Somewhere along my life’s journey, I became curious and sleepy and stupid and found some rabbit-holes inviting. I didn’t stop to consider. I just decided to follow a White Rabbit (or two). It wasn’t intentional. It wasn’t planned. It just happened. Like Alice, I found myself on an unexplainable search, looking for that elusive secret to life, the mystery of being all that I could be, the key to winning friends and influencing people, that hidden formula for the successful life. I knew there had to be White Rabbits out there that were willing to show me the way. I just had to find them. And suddenly, standing in a bookstore, I saw a White Rabbit right in front of me…

Dianne Lemon – Co-Pastor of Vineyard Church of East Central Illinois says:

“Are a few of your own little “Rabbits” coming to mind? What have you been chasing that you just know is going to make your life better? Hey, Dr. Phil’s got the secret … Oprah believes … Dr. Atkins has the cure … Maybe it’s those seven habits … . “Follow that Rabbit!” I laughed. I cried.  Most of all I was challenged to crack open my own heart again…Through the Looking Glass is a must read for any man (yes, man!) or woman who desires a deeper walk with God.”
