It’s War!
When it comes to COVID-19 our mission is similar to the mission God has given us: combat an invisible enemy that is daily trying to steal, kill, and destroy.
You and I are called to be a people of love, peace and the cross. Bonnie and I want to encourage you to continue the mission of pointing people toward the greatness of the Gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit.
A Change In Methodology: Distance Praying!
After our international travel was grounded several weeks ago, Bonnie and I continued serving in our local community…until that was halted as well. This is a recent post from my FB page.
“Bonnie and I just returned home from delivering hot meals to the at risk elderly in Lincoln County.
One 80 year old woman was especially appreciative. As I stood on the other side of the door she began to confide in me that her son had just been diagnosed with late stage cancer, is in the hospital and given only six days to live.
She has underlying conditions and cannot visit “to hold my son while he’s dying.” She goes on to say she is “trying not to think about it but can’t stop”.
I asked if I could pray for her.
At that point she launched out from the other side of the door and put her hand out for me to hold it. I quickly told her I could not, for her own safety, but I did pray for her and minister God’s love and peace.
Distance praying works! It worked for the centurion’s servant in Luke 7:1-10, and it works today.
She was an incredible lady, loves the Lord, and blessed me as I left. We left there even more aware of each person’s need for a simple ‘distance’ touch.”
