Don’t Miss Your Boat!
“I’ve been waiting for my boat to come in but my dock sunk.” Have you heard that before? It’s meant to be humorous. However, there are to many people that think like that and as a result really do miss their boat.
Here’s what a friend of mine says. Actually, he’s an old friend and very wise. I’ve only know him for around 43 years but he was born over 1900 years ago. His name is James and he wrote a book. Yea, it’s in the New Testament.
Here’s what James says, “Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life…So, my very dear friends, don’t get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures.”
Going through tough times? Hang in there with Jesus and the day will come when He will lift you up and show you off and say to the world around you, “Do you see what I can do with a man or woman who remains loyal to me in tough times.” Be the person God has made you to be. Hang in there with Jesus. Don’t give up. You have a rescuer!
