Bringing Lift to Villages

Two weeks ago I was in Gojo, Ethiopia where we received a report from the Village elders that our church plants have brought an uplift to the whole village.  There has been a noticeable decrease in crime such as murders.  Widows have been cared for and have even started businesses through the micro loans they have received.  Water is cleaner and there is less disease.  The whole economy has experienced a lift.

Frankly, I’m not surprised.  One would expect these things to take place when Jesus makes the scene with the Kingdom of God.  One of the most compassionate things you and I can do for people is help facilitate a self sustaining church plant.  That church introduces people to Jesus,  ministers with the poor and the whole village or community experiences a lift.  It’s the manifestation of the already not yet Kingdom.  The blessing of God!
